Exodus 31 ~ 33

31:1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, Compare
31:2See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. Compare
31:3And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom and with understanding and with knowledge and with all kinds of workmanship, Compare
31:4To fashion skillful designs, to work in gold and in silver and in bronze, Compare
31:5And in the cutting of stones for setting and in the carving of wood, to work in all kinds of workmanship. Compare
31:6And now, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of all who are wise in heart I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded you: Compare
31:7The Tent of Meeting, and the Ark of the Testimony and the expiation cover that is on it, and all the utensils of the tent, Compare
31:8And the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand with all its utensils, and the altar of incense, Compare
31:9And the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base, Compare
31:10And the finely worked garments, both the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons for them to serve as priests, Compare
31:11And the anointing oil, and the incense of fragrant spices for the sanctuary. According to all that I have commanded you, they shall do. Compare
31:12And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, Compare
31:13Speak also to the children of Israel, saying, You shall surely keep My Sabbaths; for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifies you. Compare
31:14Therefore you shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Compare
31:15Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to Jehovah; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death. Compare
31:16Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. Compare
31:17It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. Compare
31:18And when He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave to Moses the two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God. Compare
32:1And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered against Aaron and said to him, Come, make a god for us who will go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. Compare
32:2And Aaron said to them, Tear off the gold rings, which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me. Compare
32:3And all the people tore off the golden rings which were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. Compare
32:4And he took the gold from their hand and fashioned it with an engraving tool and made it into a molten calf; and they said, This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt! Compare
32:5And when Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; then Aaron made a proclamation and said, Tomorrow shall be a feast to Jehovah. Compare
32:6And they rose up early on the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. Compare
32:7And Jehovah spoke to Moses, Go, get down; for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. Compare
32:8They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and they have worshipped it and have sacrificed to it and said, Theis is your god, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt! Compare
32:9And Jehovah said to Moses, I have seen this people, and indeed they are, a stiff-necked people. Compare
32:10Now therefore let Me be, that My anger may burn against them, and I may consume them; and I will make of you a great nation. Compare
32:11And Moses entreated Jehovah his God and said, Jehovah, why does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Compare
32:12Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, With evil intent He brought them out, to slay them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from Your burning anger, and repent of this evil against Your people. Compare
32:13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Yourself and said to them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever. Compare
32:14Thus Jehovah repented of the ill which He said He would do to His people. Compare
32:15Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hand, tablets that were written on both of their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. Compare
32:16And the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved upon the tablets. Compare
32:17And when Joshua heard the sound of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, There is a sound of war in the camp. Compare
32:18But Moses said, It is not the sound of the cry of triumph, / Neither is it the sound of the cry of defeat; / But it is the sound of singing that I hear. Compare
32:19And as soon as he drew near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing; and Moses' anger burned, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain. Compare
32:20And he took the calf which they had made, and he burned it with fire and ground it to powder and scattered it upon the water and made the children of Israel drink it. Compare
32:21And Moses said to Aaron, What did this people do to you that you brought so great a sin upon them? Compare
32:22And Aaron said, Do not let the anger of my lord burn. You know the people, that they are set on evil; Compare
32:23For they said to me, Make a god for us who will go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. Compare
32:24So I said to them, Whoever has any gold, let them tear it off; so they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and this calf came out. Compare
32:25And when Moses saw that the people were without restraint (for Aaron had let them be without restraint to be a derision among those who rise up against them), Compare
32:26Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said, Whoever is for Jehovah, come to me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves to him. Compare
32:27And he said to them, Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel, Let each man put his sword upon his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and each man kill his brother, and each man his companion, and each man his neighbor. Compare
32:28And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses, and that day about three thousand men among the people fell. Compare
32:29And Moses said, Consecrate yourselves today to Jehovah, for every man has been against his son and against his brother, that He may bestow upon you a blessing today. Compare
32:30And on the next day Moses said to the people, You have sinned a great sin; and now I will go up to Jehovah; perhaps I can make expiation for your sin. Compare
32:31And Moses returned to Jehovah and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin and have made a god of gold for themselves. Compare
32:32And now if only You will forgive their sin; and if not, please blot me out of Your book, which You have written. Compare
32:33And Jehovah said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book. Compare
32:34And now go, lead the people to the place about which I have spoken to you. Now My Angel will go before you; nevertheless in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them. Compare
32:35And Jehovah struck the people because of what they did with the calf which Aaron had made. Compare
33:1Then Jehovah spoke to Moses, Depart; go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, To your seed I will give it. Compare
33:2And I will send an Angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Compare
33:3Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you in the way, for you are a stiff-necked people. Compare
33:4And when the people heard this evil word, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments. Compare
33:5Now Jehovah had said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked people; if I were to go up in your midst for one moment, I would consume you. Now therefore put off your ornaments from you, and I will decide what to do to you. Compare
33:6Thus the children of Israel were stripped of their ornaments from Mount Horeb onward. Compare
33:7Now Moses would take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, some distance from the camp; and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought Jehovah went out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. Compare
33:8And whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up and stand, every man at the entrance of his tent, and gaze after Moses, until he entered the tent. Compare
33:9And whenever Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stay at the entrance of the tent, and Jehovah would speak with Moses. Compare
33:10When all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, every man at the entrance of his tent. Compare
33:11And Jehovah would speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his companion. And Moses would return to the camp, but his attendant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart out of the tent. Compare
33:12And Moses said to Jehovah, See, You say to me, Bring up this people; but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, I know you by name, and you have also found favor in My sight. Compare
33:13Now therefore if I have found favor in Your sight, please let me know now Your ways, that I may know You, so that I may continue to find favor in Your sight. Consider also that this nation is Your people. Compare
33:14And He said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. Compare
33:15And he said to Him, If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. Compare
33:16For how then shall it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, are distinct from all the other people who are on the face of the earth? Compare
33:17And Jehovah said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name. Compare
33:18And he said, Please show me Your glory. Compare
33:19And He said, I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of Jehovah before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Compare
33:20But He said, You cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me and live. Compare
33:21Then Jehovah said, Here, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand upon the rock; Compare
33:22And while My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Compare
33:23And I will take away My hand, and you will see My back; but My face shall not be seen. Compare
