5:1Now when all the kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard that Jehovah had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the children of Israel until they crossed over, their hearts melted, and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the children of Israel.

5:2At that time Jehovah said to Joshua, Make knives of flint, and circumcise again the children of Israel a second time.
Compare

5:3And Joshua made knives of flint and circumcised the children of Israel at Gibeath-haaraloth.
Compare

5:4And this is the reason Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt.
Compare
-
5:5Although all the people who came out were circumcised, all the people who were born in the wilderness on the way, after the others had come out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
Compare
-
5:6For the children of Israel went for forty years through the wilderness until all the nation, the men of war who had come out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not listen to the voice of Jehovah, they to whom Jehovah swore that they would not see the land that Jehovah had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Compare

5:7And their children, whom He had raised up in place of them, these Joshua circumcised; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.
Compare

5:8And when they had finished circumcising the whole nation, they remained in their place at the camp until they recovered.

5:9Then Jehovah said to Joshua, Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. So the name of that place has been called Gilgal to this day.
Compare
-
5:10And the children of Israel camped in Gilgal; and they held the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening on the plains of Jericho.
Compare

5:11And on the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate of the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and parched grain.
Compare

5:12And the manna ceased on that day, when they ate of the produce of the land; and there was no longer manna for the children of Israel, but they ate of the yield of the land of Canaan that year.

5:13Now once, when Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked; and behold, there was a man standing opposite him, and His sword was drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, Are You for us or for our adversaries?
Compare
-
5:14And He said, Neither, but as the Captain of Jehovah's army have I now come. Then Joshua fell to the ground upon his face and worshipped. And he said to Him, What does my Lord speak to His servant?
Compare
-
5:15And the Captain of Jehovah's army said to Joshua, Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy. And Joshua did so.
Compare

6:1Now Jericho was shut up so tight because of the children of Israel that no one went out and no one went in.
Compare
-
6:2And Jehovah said to Joshua, See, I have given Jericho and its king and the mighty men of valor into your hand.
Compare
-
6:3And you shall circle the city, all the men of valor, going around the city one time. Thus shall you do for six days.
Compare
-
6:4And seven priests shall carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Ark. Then on the seventh day you shall circle the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
Compare
-
6:5And when they give off the blast of the ram's horn and you hear the trumpet sound, all the people shall shout with a great shout. And the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, each straight ahead.
Compare

6:6So Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, Take up the Ark of the Covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Ark of Jehovah.
Compare
-
6:7And he said to the people, Pass on and circle the city, and let the armed men pass on before the Ark of Jehovah.
Compare

6:8Then when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns before Jehovah passed on and blew the trumpets; and the Ark of the Covenant of Jehovah went after them.
Compare
-
6:9And the armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets; and the rearguard went after the Ark, the trumpets continually blowing.
Compare
-
6:10And Joshua commanded the people, saying, You shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, nor let a word go forth from your mouth, until the day I say to you, Shout! Then you shall shout.
Compare
-
6:11So he had the Ark of Jehovah circle the city, going around it one time. And they came into the camp and lodged in the camp.
Compare
-
6:12And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the Ark of Jehovah.
Compare

6:15Then on the seventh day they rose early, at the break of dawn, and circled the city in the same manner seven times. Only on that day did they circle the city seven times.
Compare

6:16And at the seventh time the priests blew the trumpets, and Joshua said to the people, Shout! For Jehovah has given you the city.
Compare

6:17And the city shall be devoted to Jehovah for destruction, it and all that is in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in her house, because she hid the messengers we sent.
Compare
-
6:18But as for you, keep yourselves from what has been devoted to destruction, lest you devote yourselves to destruction by taking of what has been devoted and you make the camp of Israel something devoted to destruction and bring trouble to it.
Compare

6:19But all the silver and the gold and the vessels of bronze and iron, these are holy to Jehovah; they shall come into the treasury of Jehovah.
Compare
-
6:20So the people shouted and the trumpets were blown; and when the people heard the trumpet sound, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat. And the people went up into the city, each straight ahead, and they captured the city.
Compare
-
6:21And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city with the edge of the sword: both men and women, young and old, and oxen and sheep and donkeys.

6:26Then at that time Joshua charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah who rises up to rebuild this city Jericho! At the cost of his firstborn son shall he lay its foundation, and at the cost of his youngest son shall he set up its gates.
Compare

6:27So Jehovah was with Joshua, and reports of him were in all the land.
